This beautifully fit Model Y Tow bar enables the rear cover to hide the bar when not in use With a load capacity of 1600kg and a vertical load of 160kg this is the perfect accessory for the family teamed up with our distinctive, practical bike carrier.
Installation options in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast by us and we can refer you to our installation suggestions across the country.
The "no wiring option" does not come with tongue and ball as it is assumed that the car will only be used for carrying a bike carrier that is hitch mounted therefore there is no requirement for a tongue.
If you feel you need a tongue they can be purchased separately.

CAN I INSTALL THE TOW BAR MYSELF?
Simply put yes you can. If you have the confidence, tools and know how you certainly can install yourself and we are happy to ship Australia wide to facilitate this option but we have a suggested installers across Australia if you are not comfortable with this option. we accept not responsibility at My Tesla Accessories if this option is chosen for incorrect fitting or damage to car.
Contact them for install price and just buy from us and have delivered to you then take to them for install.
WILL FITTING AN AFTERMARKET TOW BAR EFFECT MY CARS WARRANTY?
I am not a legal expert, but I can provide some general information. The impact of installing an aftermarket towbar on your vehicle's warranty can vary depending on several factors, including the specific terms and conditions outlined in your warranty agreement and the laws and regulations in Australia.
In Australia, the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) provides certain protections to consumers, including the right to have their vehicles serviced or repaired by a qualified and competent third party without voiding the warranty, as long as the repairs or modifications do not directly cause the issue being claimed under warranty.
However, it's important to note that the Australian Consumer Law does not specifically address the installation of aftermarket parts or modifications.
We take every precaution and all our bars have been Australian made certified which requires engineering certificates to get the Australian made tick and thjs is a very through process to go through. (which it should be)
It's worth noting that in some cases, manufacturers offer their own approved or recommended aftermarket parts and accessories, which may have their own guidelines and warranty coverage. If possible, you could consider using such approved parts to minimise potential warranty concerns. Ring Tesla directly if you have any issues to get peace of mind.
CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN INSTALLER?
Yes, we can ship to you then you can choose your installer and to have a wiring loom or not depending on your towing needs.
DO YOU OFFER INSTALLING?
Yes we do.
Given we are a Brisbane based business we offer installs in the South East region of Qld but can get to Bundaberg or Northern NSW if need be. You can expect to pay about $400- $450 to have the install done for you at your home or you can bring it to our premises if you prefer in Bridgeman Downs.
It is approx a 2 hour process to install a tow bar depending if a wiring loom is required.
DO I NEED A WIRING LOOM?
A wiring loom is required only if you plan to tow a trailer or install lights on the towing object. ie a trailer, bike carrier with more than 2 bikes
We offer a plug and play wiring looms and so it is an easy process to add a 7 pin round or flat plug without cutting in to the existing wiring of your precious Model Y.
HOW MUCH CAN I TOW?
The Model Y tow bar is rated to 1600kg towing weight and 160kg vertical weight.
The vertical weight is the weight of say a bike rack with the kids bikes on it.
The range achieved will suffer as the weight being towed being increased.
Just like any ICE vehicle does.
